Another good night.
Ran a trap in the garden last night, again, only listing a few highlights due to lack of time. Best moths Garden tiger (first record since 2004), Tree-lichen beauty and a Cydia amplana. Really wanted to run more light traps … Continue reading

Full traps on night of 12th.
I too, like others had a bumper catch last night. Time constraints permit me from commenting too much on the catch, will do later on in the week if I find time. Best moth a Dotted footman. Not as many … Continue reading

Not as many species as Matthew in my 2 traps last night, and not a huge number of moths either really for the time of year. 86sp noted, with moths of interest including Kent black arches, Nut-tree tussock, Coleophora hemerobiella, … Continue reading

Good numbers of Forester at Barnhamcross common.
Went over to Barnhamcross common this afternoon for a couple of targets, Nemophora metallica and the Forester. Knowing that there was a lot of Scabious at the site I was hopeful of finding the metallica but no luck. I know … Continue reading

A great night’s trapping topped off by a very good sighting.
The night of the 17th, as reported by others was a very good night for moth trapping, certainly my best night for the year so far. The 2 traps operated recorded 140sp, with large numbers of moths caught (especially micros). … Continue reading
Wet again but worth it.
Another wet morning (and night), another wet trap to look through. Story of the year really! Was worthwhile though, as recorded my highest total for the garden so far this season – 113sp, and quite a good number of moths … Continue reading
