A14 Clearwing

My hunch paid off this morning when five Six-belted Clearwings came to lure amongst trefoil clumps on the banking adjacent to the two lay-by’s either side of the A14 just west of the Stowmarket turn off (J49?).

A few bits n bobs of interest last night. Epiblema foenella (new site record), Catoptria pinella (6th site record), Shaded Broadbar (first since 2008) and a slightly tatty looking Silver Y. Still no parva

Afternoon all. A reasonable selection of moths in the trap this morning, incl. a Pretty Chalk Carpet and my first pronuba of the year.  Went to Gallows Hill allotments at lunchtime and had four Currant Clearwings.

Spindle Ermine?

On my way home from work on Friday I saw what appears to be the workings of Ypon’ cagnagella just south of Bildeston on the B1115. They weren’t there on Thursday evening. Fingers crossed … a couple of pic’s attached.
