SMG meeting 4th/5th July 2015 – The Orfordness adventure.
After missing out on a visit last year, we returned to Ordfordness this year at a slightly earlier time than previously, just to see what was around. For once the weather gods played ball for us with a warm dry … Continue reading

Post Bulgaria mothing at IGC.
After an excellent holiday enjoying the lepidopteran delights of Bulgaria (far too many to list here), it was back to normality this week running traps a home a couple of times. Had things improved from the poor start to June? … Continue reading

After my last post reporting on the good night at IGC on the 22nd, I did trap 3 more times but with less traps as weather conditions were not as ideal. All nights brought in around 20sp, and low numbers … Continue reading

4 of the group met up for some daytime recording at Old Broom, Risby. Beating the various trees and shrubs turned up pretty much the same as on our visit last weekend. Of more interest were the day-flying moths found … Continue reading

Suffolk Moth Group meeting 23/05/2015 – Old Broom SWT reserve, Risby.
The group’s first ‘official’ meeting took place at the new SWT reserve at Old broom, Risby, a site that could have good potential as it has a mix of woodland (containing a number of large Oak pollards), scrub and grassland. … Continue reading
