Acleris sp – Any thoughts?

See below photo of the Acleris sp’ taken in the garden on 23 Mar which I thought might be a candidate for schalleriana. Have kept the moth just in case. Any thoughts?

Looks good to me Paul. The species seems to established itself well in Suffolk now.

Thanks Raymond. Do you think it needs dissecting to be 100% certain or is general impression and flight period good enough?

    • Neil says:

Paul, the moth is definitely schalleriana, no dissection needed. Those small patches of raised scales are a bit of a give-away for me. Colour right too. Regular here with me now and a species spreading in the county. So you can release it if you want.

Good-o. Will liberate the moth and chalk up my first addition to the site for 2018 :-)
