I have used it for odd records of non lep invertebrates and personally I find it a bit of a faff. You have to say how confident you are with the record i.e certain etc. I have put that for very obvious species then been questioned by verifiers which just adds to the recording process. OK if you have taken a photo of each species but I don’t do that. Not sure what happens to the records once entered – do they get passed on to county recorders eventually and how long does that take? Tony may be able to answer that. I’ll be sticking to using Mapmate where I can enter all the records then send them all in as a report at the end of the year. The records in my Mapmate are stored on my PC, I’m guessing the irecord ones go onto the national database so you don’t have your own copy yourself.
