Lead-coloured Drab

A fine catch here in the northern realms of East Anglia (Hindolveston, Norfolk) with 90 moths of 16 species to 125w Robinson Trap last night including two male Lead-coloured Drab (third in two weeks), this is a species we normally only see every other year as we have little aspen nearby. Is anyone else seeing higher than normal numbers of this species?

Similar numbers for moths here at Hollesley and for Friday night too. If your every other year for the Lead-coloured works here too I should have them this year but so far not one, however Matthew has been taking them this year at Bawdsey.

As Raymond has mentioned, I have indeed taken three Lead-coloured Drab this spring. None were seen this time last year but the weather was atrocious during its flight period then.

None here at IGC yet this year. Didn’t get any last year either, but that is not really too much of a surprise. Did see it in 2012 however.

Had 3 in yesterday evenings catch at West Caister woods and a new record for the site (second year of recording there). Lots of mature aspen there but it was very windy.
