Small really is beautiful …

A real surprise in the moth trap this morning … in the form of a pristine Small Marbled (Eublemma parva). Only the second for Suffolk, after Matthew’s Bawdsey Hall record last year, and a VC26 first. I’m kind of glad now that I put the trap out last night after all :-)

Yes it is beautiful isn’t it. There are a few immigrants around at present. But that is one of the best.

Congratulations Paul, and to think you previously collected the larvae! Anyway, a random comment you might enjoy even more; I told a customer of mine the other day that I recorded moths. His reply, what sounds do they make? An idea brewing for a quiz for the indoor meeting where Neil may not get all the answers.

Thanks Keith, Raymond. You can’t imagine how releaved I was when it jumped straight into the glass tube. A Moth Noise Quiz, now there’s a thought … or is it a whirrrrrr ;-)
