Springtime mothing still ticking along.

Trap in the garden here last night caught 16sp, 88 moths, mostly the usual orthosias but there were first year records of Pine beauty (3) and Oak nycteoline (3). Still getting March moth too. Best micro Caloptilia elongella.

I was out with Keith last night and we trapped my site on the Norfolk bank of the Waveney (opposite Beccles Marshes). 24 species included first for the year records for Frosted Green (3), Purple Thorn (3) and singles Balsam Carpet & Waved Umber. Micros included A. alstromeriana & ocellana. Shoulder Stripe & Early Tooth-striped were also typical spring moths.

Put the trap out in my garden to last night. I never expect much at this time of the year anyway but did manage 9 species, the best of which were singles of Shoulder Stripe, Early Grey and March Moth.
