Convolvuli

A Convolvulus hawk (Herse convolvuli) turned up in my Grundisburgh garden moth trap on Monday night (Sept 3rd).

Have many been seen in Suffolk this year?

  1. Matthew Deans says:

I’ve heard of three additional records of Agrius convolvuli this autumn (1 at Bawdsey and 2 at Dunwich Heath). I suspect there have been others un-reported as turning into a reasonable year nationally for the species.

A female was watched feeding at honeysuckle at the bottom of my Ipswich garden on the night of 30th August.
