First Early

It was a balmy 10 deg. here in Gorleston last evening, so I looked for Early Moth by torchlight in the old blackthorn hedge nearby, a regular place to find them. Just 3 males seen but no females. Also ran the actinic in nearby woodland for half an hour – 7 Winter Moth & 3 Chestnut. The garden trap produced 1 Spring Usher and 3 Epiphyas postvittana.

Poor catch in my trap at Hollesley. Just one Spring Usher.
