Night of 18th November – still moths around despite the cold.

Only 2 degrees when I left the house this morning to check the traps put out in the woods around the work-shed area at the golf course last night. Not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised to find quite a few moths caught. Only 7 sp, but 48 moths:
Mottled umber – 17
December moth – 16
Scarce umber – 10
Feathered thorn – 2
Northern winter moth – 1
Acleris sparsana – 1
Chestnut – 1
