I have been to a couple of sites within the last week and found the leaf-mines of Phyllonorycter platani in quite remarkable numbers on London Plane trees. The sites were in the more northerly parts of the county – Great Livermere and Hoxne.
The mines are pretty obvious to spot if they are present in large numbers and P. platani is the only moth making blotches on London Plane. If you spot anything like this I’d be interested to hear.
