This was the first visit of the group to this SWT reserve. Six of the group turned up for the evening and we ran nine lights in all. Lights were set up in the woodland in the western part of the reserve and in a rough grassy area, with an additional light down near a piece of wet woodland.
We didn’t find anything of outstanding rarity but the following is a selection of the more interesting species from the 100+ species recorded (some of them rather early in appearance) – Orange Footman, Large Yellow Underwing, Spruce Carpet, Cream-spot Tiger, Dingy Shell, Clouded-bordered Brindle, Large Nutmeg, Teleiodes luculella, Alabonia geoffrella and Strophedra nitidana.
