National Status : Common

Local Status : Resident (SMP Status 3)

Distribution and abundance : Not uncommon in the Brecks

Habitats : Grassland, usually on chalky soils, meadows, woodland rides, embankments

Flight Period : Single-brooded; May to mid-June

Larval foodplants : White and Red Clover, Common Bird's-foot Trefoil, Black Medick, Lucerne, Tufted Vetch

Morley's Final Catalogue : Very local before 1890 at Herringfleet, in Lothingland (Crf) and both Tuddenham (Skepper, &c.) and Newmarket heath (Fenland), in the Breck. Never seen since that year (Mly) and no later records.

Wingspan details : Forewing 13-15mm, Wingspan 28-34mm
