Local Status : Resident (SMP Status 1) Distribution and abundance : Widespread and common Habitats : In a wide variety, including fens, woodland, scrub, heathland, grassland and gardens Flight Period : Single-brooded; literature states late May to mid-July with occasional partial second brood, late July to early September. Records from Suffolk show a gradual increase in numbers from April to mid-August followed by a rapid decline into mid-September Larval foodplants : Common Nettle Morley's Final Catalogue : Somewhat frequent with us. Recently noted about Bentley Wood, at light (Mly); common at Martlesham (D), Hemley and Waldringfield (Wlr); Waldringfield (James); Southwold (Ctw); and Tuddenham (Sparke). Abundant at Sibton (Hawley). Wingspan details : Forewing 15-17mm, Wingspan 32-38mm Identification
