Distribution and abundance : Widespread and common

Habitats : In a wide variety, including woodland, hedgerows, fens, heathland, grassland, scrub and gardens

Flight Period : Single-brooded; late May to late July

Larval foodplants : Various herbaceous plants; including Common Nettle, Hedge Woundwort, Common Ragwort, Wood Avens and Honeysuckle

Morley's Final Catalogue : Somewhat scarce, but wide spread. Twice at Copdock (Hkg); singly at light in Ipswich occasionally (Mly, Baylis); Stowmarket (C); Waldringfield (James), rarely (Wlr); Aldeburgh (Wrt); Beecles (Crf); Gorleston (Mr).

Wingspan details : Forewing 17-20mm, Wingspan 36-44mm
