Habitats : Moorland, upland and lowland grassland, parkland, gardens

Flight Period : Single-brooded; August to September

Larval foodplants : Not well known in the wild, docks and sorrels. In the north-west I have found this species on Spearmint (Mentha)

Records : No recent confirmed records

Morley's Final Catalogue : Stowmarket about 1850 (B & C). Needs confirmation: cf. Trans. i, 32.

Wingspan details : Forewing 15-19mm, Wingspan 32-40mm
