Local Status : Resident (SMP Status 3)

Distribution and abundance : Local, coastal areas and Little Ouse and Waveney valleys

Habitats : Coastal vegetated shingle, fens, heathland, scrub

Flight Period : Single-brooded; June to early August

Larval foodplants : Various broad-leaved grasses

Morley's Final Catalogue : Very rare at Ipswich (Tim. Last, Entom. 1867, 189). Tuddenham St Mary four (Sparke); Herringswell Fen in early July 1903 (in some numbers: if my memory serves, Elliott, Sparke, Norgate & Burrows, with whom I was collecting, took a few.-CM).

Wingspan details : Forewing 16-19mm, Wingspan 36-43mm
