Distribution and abundance : Widespread and abundant

Habitats : Mainly broad-leaved woodland, heathland with scrub, gardens, but may occur in most places

Flight Period : Single-brooded; mid-February to May

Larval foodplants : Various broad-leaved trees - found locally on hawthorns, sallows, Blackthorn, Field Maple, elm, Common Lime, oaks

Morley's Final Catalogue : Excessively abundant on sallow-blossom, and occasionally at light, throughout Suffolk.

Wingspan details : Forewing 13-17mm, Wingspan 34-40mm
