Habitats : Open woodland edges

Flight Period : Single-brooded; July to early September

Larval foodplants : Nettle, stitchworts, docks and other low-growing herbaceous plants

Comments : Inclusion on the Suffolk list appears rather tenuous for this northern and westerly species

Morley's Final Catalogue : Not listed as Suffolk

Aston's Additions : Mr. Morley thought this " might yet turn up with us " but all we have discovered to date is Stainton's record from Stowmarket (Stainton 1857, p. 233). Unlikely (Trans. S.N.S., V. XI, pt. II, p. 144).

Wingspan details : Forewing 16-20mm, Wingspan 36-44mm
