Distribution and abundance : Largely restricted to the Brecks and the Sandlings

Habitats : Fens, grassland, heathland

Flight Period : Singel-brooded; mid-May to early July

Larval foodplants : Wide range of herbaceous plants

Morley's Final Catalogue : Suffolk, teste W. C. Hewitson Esq. (Stephens, Illust, ii, 1828, p. 72). Of frequent occurrence, though rarer than formerly (cp. Ent. Wk. Intell. x, 1861, 27); no recent record from west Suffolk, except at Worlington in 1925 et seqq. (Whit). Annually scarce at Waldringfield (Wlr); Felixstow and Nacton (Gibbs); Bentley and Barnby (Vinter); Dodnash, Ipswich, Belton, Gorleston, etc.
