Flight Period : Single-brooded; July to August

Larval foodplants : Bristle Bent grass, Bell Heather, Cross-leaved Heather, Heather and Bilberry

Records : Thorpeness (A Richardson, 5.viii.1965)

Morley's Final Catalogue : Not listed as Suffolk

Comments : The specimen recorded in Thorpeness in 1965 was of the subspecies arenaria. This is the continental subspecies and is lighter in colouration than the resident subspecies bivittata found in Dorset and Hampshire. It is likely that any further records of this species will be of ssp. arenaria.
