Local Status : Immigrant (SMP Status 4)

Distribution and abundance : Single recent record

Flight Period : Single-brooded; literature states July to September

Larval foodplants : Dog lichen and other lichens and algae growing on branches and trunks of trees

Records : Santon Downham (J Chainey & J Spence, 2001). Numerous coastal sites during September 2006.

Morley's Final Catalogue : Formerly of occasional occurrence in many of our larger woods: Old Hall Wood in 1858 (Trans. i, 26); Belstead, Playford, Brandon, Bury, Glemham Magna, Aldeburgh, Lowestoft: ante 1890. Aldeburgh in 1892 (Ctw); two at Tuddenham 1900 (Sparke); Hardwick (Norgate); Beccles (adds). Now unrecorded for fully thirty years, but most improbably extinct.

Wingspan details : Forewing male 18-22mm, female 20-26mm, Wingspan 35-55mm
