The Moths of Suffolk
1995 Puss Moth, Cerura vinula, (Linnaeus, 1758)

National Status : Common

Distribution and abundance : Local and never in large numbers

Habitats : Open woodland, hedgerows, scrub, carr and gardens

Flight Period : Single-brooded; late April to early July

Morley's Final Catalogue : Sufficiently frequent everywhere throughout east Suffolk on poplar and sallow, from Felixstow and Ipswich where it is occasionally seen at light, through Monks Soham and Beccles to Gorleston.
