National Status : Former resident; extinct

Habitats : Mature broadleaved woodland

Flight Period : Single-brooded; July to early August

Larval foodplants : lichens growing on oak and beech trunks and branches

Morley's Final Catalogue : Extinct in Britain. No reason exists however, why Harpur Crewe's record of the species from Holbrook Park, where oak abounds, should not have been correct in 1856. No confirmation is likely to arise in the future, unfortunately.

Wingspan details : Forewing 15-17mm, Wingspan 35-39mm
