Distribution and abundance : Widespread and not uncommon

Habitats : Heathland, grassland, woodland, fens, scrub

Flight Period : Single-brooded; mid-May to August

Larval foodplants : Not known in the wild

Morley's Final Catalogue : Broadly distributed, but rarely in considerable numbers. Bentley; Ipswich in 1893 (Pyett) and Barren Heath there in July 1893 (Mly); Blythburgh (Gd), Southwold in 1933 (Wlr); abundant at Aldeburgh in 1890 (Crtw); Lowestoft; Bradwell (Lockyer, Ent. 1879, 294). Brandeston; Needham; Tuddenham Fen in June 1900.

Wingspan details : Forewing 13-15mm, Wingspan 27-30mm
