Local Status : Uncertain (SMP Status 4)

Habitats : Woodland and moorland

Flight Period : Single-brooded; July to August

Larval foodplants : Hedge Bedstraw, Lady's Bedstraw and Heath Bedstraw

Comments : Current known distribution shows this as a mainly north-westerly species in Britain, with only a few scattered local colonies in the south.

Morley's Final Catalogue : Almost surely absent though it has been recorded (Bloomfield 1890, 56). We are in east-central area of England, where Lythria purpuraria, L., alone is probably not indigenous.

Wingspan details : Forewing 13-15mm, Wingspan 26-35mm
