Distribution and abundance : Widespread and common

Habitats : Coniferous woodland, heathland, scrub, grassland

Flight Period : Double-brooded; late April to August and August to early November

Larval foodplants : Various coniferous trees

Morley's Final Catalogue : Probably general, but much mixed with the last. Fritton (Mly), Beccles in St Olaves in Herringfleet during June 1928 (D). Icklingham (Wiltshire).

Wingspan details : Forewing 13-17mm, Wingspan 28-36mm
