National Status : Common

Local Status : Resident (SMP Status 1)

Distribution and abundance : Local, restricted to the Sandlings and the Brecks, but can be common in these areas

Habitats : Coniferous woodland, heathland and scrub

Flight Period : Single-brooded; mid-June to November

Larval foodplants : Scots Pine and Corsican Pine

Comments : Extra care should be taken in the identification of this species during the early part of its flight period, as there appears to be some confusion with Grey Pine Carpet also on the wing at that time of year.

Wingspan details : Forewing 13-16mm, Wingspan 30-34mm
