Local Status : Resident (SMP Status 1)

Distribution and abundance : Widespread and common

Habitats : In a wide variety, woodland, fens, grassland, heathland, gardens

Flight Period : Double-brooded; May to June and late August to early October

Larval foodplants : The leaves of many woody species of plants

Morley's Final Catalogue : Both (referring also to Dark Marbled Carpet) of quite frequent and about equally common occurrence, from Bentley Woods to Gorleston and Tuddenham Fen. Many at dusk, but few at light, in Monks Soham; once or twice on sugar near Ipswich.

Wingspan details : Forewing 14-19mm, Wingspan 32-39mm
