Flight Period : May be recorded from April to November, with most records occurring in August and September

Larval foodplants : Low growing herbaceous plants - probably.

Recent records : Nowton (R Eley, 1995-6, 2002-4), Sizewell (D Funnell, 1998), Westleton (B Statham, 1998), Walberswick (J Clarke, 1998), Ipswich (A Prichard, 1998), Cavenham Heath (D Coleman, 1998), Sicklesmere (S Dumican, 1999), Ipswich (N Sherman, 2000), Staverton (SMG, 2000), Minsmere (N Calbrade, 2001), Parham (J Slade, 2001), Denham (N Whinney, 2002), Grundisburgh (M Hough, 2003), Rendham (M Deans, 2003), Little Blakenham (SMG, 2004), Orfordness (J Askins, 2004)

Morley's Final Catalogue : No second example of this casual immigrant has appeared here since P. Bouchard took a male in ' Suffolk' during 1863 (Ent. Ann. 1864, 128; Zool. 1863, 8784). Our Member, Col. Hawley, has taken one recently on the south Hants coast.
