Local Status : Resident (SMP Status 3)

Distribution and abundance : Local

Habitats : Fens, grassland, vegetated shingle and scrub

Flight Period : Single-brooded; late June to August

Larval foodplants : In the flower- and seed-heads of Perennial Sow-thistle (Sonchus arvensis)

Morley's Final Catalogue : Very little noticed here, though feeding in sowthistle-heads. Found to occur at Felixstow (Gbs, EMM. 1904, 80); Tuddenham (Wrt about 1870).
