Local Status : Resident (SMP Status 3)

Distribution and abundance : Widespread and not uncommon

Habitats : Grassland, fens, vegetated shingle, scrub and coastal areas

Flight Period : Single-brooded; mid-June to August

Larval foodplants : In the seed-heads and occasionally the stem of Common Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea)

Morley's Final Catalogue : Apparently much rarer with us than in south England. Ipswich at light in 1894, Monks Soham (Mly); Aldeburgh on ragwort in 1892 (Ctw); Gorleston (D). Elveden (Williams); Brandon (Barrett); and in 1930 at Icklingham (Whit).
