Habitats : Disturbed areas, grassland, vegetated shingle and sandhills

Flight Period : Single-brooded; June to mid-August

Larval foodplants : In the roots and flower stem of Colt's-foot (Tussilago farfara), less often on Winter Heliotrope (Petasites fragans)

Morley's Final Catalogue : In profusion almost wherever coltsfoot abounds. Copdock (Hkg); Ipswich in June 1896 (Pyett); Coddenham chalk-pits (Mly); Felixstow (Gbs); Lowestoft and Somerleyton brick-fields.
