Habitats : Hedgerows, chalk grassland and open woodland

Flight Period : Single-brooded; June to early July or August

Larval foodplants : On the leaves of hawthorns (Crataegus)

Morley's Final Catalogue : An abundant hawthorn species. Bentley Woods, Ipswich, Bramford, at Monks Soham light in July, Aldeburgh, Thorpe denes, Blythburgh Wood, Lowestoft, Gorleston. Brandon.
