Distribution and abundance : Widespread and common

Habitats : Open woodland, hedgerows, scrub, fens, heathland and fens

Flight Period : Single-brooded; late June to August

Larval foodplants : On the leaves and catkins of a variety of trees and shrubs

Morley's Final Catalogue : Very common, though not in the south English profusion. Bentley, Staverton Thicks, on lime trunks at Monks Soham garden and Glemham Magna to Gorleston and Brandon.

Wingspan details : Wingspan 11-14mm
