Distribution and abundance : Scarce

Flight Period : Single-brooded; late May to July

Larval foodplants : On the leaves of Lesser Celandine (Ranunculus ficaria), less frequently on Columbine (Aquilegia), mercurys (Mercurialis), bilberries (Vaccinium), Common Figwort (Scrophularia nodosa) and other plants

Records : Minsmere (C Anderson, 1994-5), Newbourne Springs (J Nicholls, 7.vii.1996), East Bergholt (SMG, 3.vii.1998), Ipswich (N Sherman, 2001-2 & 2004-5), King's Forest (SMG,

Morley's Final Catalogue : This lesser-celandine feeder should abound. Quite scarce, and observed at only Bentley in 1901, Nacton in July 1902 (Gbs),. Shrubland in 1930 (Whit) and Blaxhall before 1890 (Hkr).
