Distribution and abundance : Rare

Habitats : Grassland, heathland, road verges, field margins and recently disturbed areas

Flight Period : Double-brooded; May to June and July to August

Larval foodplants : In the flower- and seed-heads of Common Toadflax (Linaria vulgaris) or Ribwort Plantain (Plantago lanceolata)

Records : Pashford Poors Fen (A Watchman, 1981), Redgrave and Lopham Fens (M R Hall, 1998)

Morley's Final Catalogue : Very local on both coast and Breck. Lowestoft during August (Entom. 1922, 258). Elveden (Williams); Brandon (Barrett; cf. Ent. Annual, 1868). Thetford, and bred at both Euston 1933 and Barton Mills 1935 (Whit).
