Local Status : Resident (SMP Status 3)

Distribution and abundance : Widespread and not uncommon

Habitats : Woodland, heathland and scrub

Flight Period : Single-brooded, late July to mid-October

Larval foodplants : Birch (Betula) or Hazel (Corylus avellana)

Morley's Final Catalogue : Extremely local with us : discovered in Bentley Woods during August 1895 (Mly); later found there by Whittingham, and in 1934 Waller (Trans. ii, 296); Hemley in 1904 (Wlr). His C. ' rhomboidella, L.,' is said by Stephens (Illust. 1834, p. 219) to be 'found in Suffolk.'
