Distribution and abundance : Local

Habitats : Gardens, scrub, open woodland and hedgerows

Flight Period : Single-brooded, June to mid-August

Larval foodplants : Hawthorn (Crataegus), Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa), occasionally on Wall Cotoneaster (Cotoneaster horizontalis).

Morley's Final Catalogue : Fairly frequent everywhere on hawthorn. Ipswich in 1896 (Pyett) and in 1930, Bentley (Whit.); Grundisburgh in July 1898 (Mly); Blaxhall (Hkr); Flixton (Ctw).
