Distribution and abundance : Rare

Habitats : Marshes, marginal vegetation around ponds, wet meadows, stream-sides, and dykes

Flight Period : Single-brooded, August to May, hibernating through the winter

Larval foodplants : Fool's Water-cress (Apium nodiflorum), less often on Fine-leaved Water-dropwort (Oenanthe aquatica), Hemlock Water-dropwort (Oenanthe crocata) or Great Water-parsnip (Sium latifolium)

Morley's Final Catalogue : Usually a common species on Oenanthe; but known here only from Homersfield before 1890 (Crutwell).
