Distribution and abundance : Local

Habitats : Old hedgerows and blackthorn thickets

Flight Period : Single-brooded, April to May

Larval foodplants : Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa), Rowan (Sorbus aucuparia), less often hawthorn (Crataegus)

Morley's Final Catalogue : Not supposed to be rare on hawthorn and rowan. Taken at Bungay in 1903 by Mrs. Mann (Trans. i, 35), probably at light; and on 2 June 1935 in Fritton marshes (Mly).
