Distribution and abundance : Rare

Habitats : Grassland, meadows, woodland and gardens

Flight Period : Single-brooded, June to mid-July

Larval foodplants : Various grasses, especially Cock's-foot (Dactylis glomerata), Yorkshire-fog (Holcus lanata), Creeping Soft-grass (Holcus mollis), and Tufted Hair-grass(Deschampsia cespitosa), mining the leaves

Morley's Final Catalogue : Common on the leaves of various grasses. Flew to Monks Soham light in July 1933, and was beaten from bushes at Eriswell in late June 1914 (Mly). Hemley in 1932 (Whit.).
