Morley's Final Catalogue : Rather a local species, feeding on thistles. Taken at Beccles after 1890 (Crf) and at Bentley in 1935 (Whit). Not distinguished as species separate from C. peribenanderi until 1942 (Toll). Only records that mention a foodplant of Cirsium, Carduus, Arctium records prior to 1942 can be assigned to C. peribenanderi.
