Larval foodplants : Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa), apple (Malus), also ornamental cherries (Prunus), Bird Cherry (Prunus padus), Dwarf Cherry (Prunus cerasus) and hawthorn (Crataegus)

Morley's Final Catalogue : Bred plentifully from larval cases beaten from hawthorn at both Bentley Woods and Monks Soham in 1931 (Mly); bred at Ipswich (Whit.); Southwold (Ctw), Blythbro Wood; Tuddenham (Wrn).
