Habitats : Woodland, hedgerows and fens

Flight Period : Single-brooded; late June to August

Larval foodplants : Elm (Ulmus) or Beech (Fagus sylvatica)

Morley's Final Catalogue : Not very common, about elm. Hemley in 1902 (Wlr); Bentley Woods on sugar, Ipswich sitting on holly, Southwold (Mly), not uncommon on Gorleston palings (D).
