Local Status : Resident (SMP Status 3) Distribution and abundance : Local Habitats : Woodland, particularly on chalky soils Flight Period : Single-brooded; August to May, recorded mainly in September, March and April Larval foodplants : Spindle (Euonymus europaeus) Morley's Final Catalogue : One example in Bentley Woods during January 1896 (Baylis), and others in October and December 1899, all among holly there, where is no Euonymus: none seen later (Mly). Sotterly at light on 26 May 1936 (Gd). Wingspan details : Wingspan 26-33mm Identification
