Distribution and abundance : Rare

Flight Period : Probably continuously brooded, being on the wing in every month of the year

Larval foodplants : Animal materials, including wool, hair and feathers. It has also been bred from a wasp's nest

Records : Landguard (N Odin, 1997 & 12.vii.2005), Minsmere (S Clancy, 26.vii.2004)

Morley's Final Catalogue : Not infrequent at electric lights in Ipswich (Pyett); Felixstow (Gibbs); uncommon at Letheringham and Monks Soham (Mly). Adkin showed Tinea pallescentella reared from a bale of Hares' hair at Brandon on Nov. 1912 (Meet. Ent. Soc. 5 iii 13).
