Distribution and abundance : Widespread, predominantly in the Brecks and Sandlings

Habitats : Birch woodland, scrub and other places the foodplant occurs

Flight Period : Single-brooded; June to July

Larval foodplants : Birch (Betula), mining the leaves

Morley's Final Catalogue : Bentley Woods in 1898 (Pyett); among birch at Leiston (Grey); one walking on aspen-bark at Southwold 9 July 1900 (Morley).

Wingspan details : Wingspan 6-7mm
