SMG Indoor Meeting – Saturday 2nd February – reminder

Just a quick reminder that the indoor meeting is not far off, just under a month to go. The venue is the same as previous years at Bucklesham Village Hall. Doors open at 1.30 and we’ll start at 2.00pm. Further details will be on the web site shortly (although I’m trying to finish off/fix the latest version of the new moth guide at the moment).

All are welcome to attend and it’s free! The success of the meeting is dependent on members bringing along a variety of material to display and talk about – so please try and bring something along if possible. There’s no fixed format for presentations, either Powerpoint, picture files or even movie files – most tend to revolve around what recorders have themselves found of interest in the previous year. Exhibits are also welcome and something to look at during the tea break. If there’s not enough to keep us busy you could have to sit through my moth quiz!

Suffolk Naturalists Society Members Evening – 23rd November

There’s not been much publicity for this so I thought it would be worth a mention. The SNS Autumn Members’ Evening is next Wednesday 23rd November at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Copdock, Ipswich. Doors open at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start. Members and non-members are encouraged to bring along some digital photos/presentations. There will be some moth-related pictures as I’ll be showing something. Non-members welcome. More details on the SNS web site at www.sns.org.uk.

I need to get the indoor meeting booked for next year. It will be on a Saturday afternoon at Bucklesham Village Hall.

Can people let me know their preferences for dates in February to April.

Also if you’re thinking of doing a presentation can you let me know as I’d like to get an idea of how much material there will be.
